Help a page earn the click.
Search ranks pages, then the buyer chooses a result.
- OptimizeClarify the page and its technical signals
- RankEarn a position in search results
- MeasureTrack impressions, clicks, leads, and sales
The shortlist may already be happening before the click.
See whether AI recommends you, ignores you, or sends buyers to a competitor with clearer visible proof.
Example: A buyer asks, “Who should I trust for Botox in Draper?”
AI may name three clinics before that buyer reaches a website.
They may not be better. They may just be easier for AI to choose.
In The Answer records whether your brand appeared, which competitors appeared, and the visible sources when provided.

The blind spot
AI can form a shortlist before the click. A competitor may appear because its pages, reviews, comparisons, or proof from independent sources are clearer.
The marketing system changed
SEO helps a page earn the click. GEO examines whether AI answers mention, compare, or recommend a brand, along with the visible evidence in each dated result.
Search ranks pages, then the buyer chooses a result.
AI can answer first, so the brand and its evidence become the things to measure.

Current checkGPT 5.6 Sol
ChatGPT is the broad synthesis check. It shows whether a general purpose assistant can understand your category, include your brand, explain why it fits, and compare it with the right alternatives. Look for which pages are cited and which claims have no visible source trail. OpenAI does not publish a fixed source weighting formula.
ChatGPT may answer from model knowledge or bring in the web. The source trail changes when Search or Deep Research is used.
ChatGPT may search automatically for fresh or niche information, or the user can turn Search on.
The buyer's prompt may be rewritten into targeted queries, so wording, location, and context can change the pages retrieved.
Searched answers can include inline citations and a Sources panel that link back to relevant pages.
Current checkGemini 3.5 Flash
Gemini is especially useful for checking category, product or service, location, and entity facts that may be visible across Google surfaces. We still record whether you appear, how you are recommended, and who appears instead. This direct Gemini run is not the same as every live AI Overview. Product mode, Google services, and connected private sources can change the result.
Gemini can ground answers in Google Search and, in some product modes, combine that with Google services or user provided content.
When search would help, Gemini can generate one or more queries, process the results, and attach supporting links.
Depending on the mode and settings, public information from Maps, YouTube, Flights, or Hotels can also shape a response.
Uploaded files and connected Workspace documents or email may appear as sources. Not every answer includes a Sources panel.
Current checkClaude Sonnet 5
Claude is useful for reviewing whether a careful answer has enough clear proof to describe and recommend you without overstatement. The wording matters: a mention can still be weak if the answer hedges, raises a trust concern, or gets the buyer fit wrong. A confident uncited answer is not the same as a searched answer. Check whether Web Search ran and open the cited pages before relying on the conclusion.
Claude treats live web access as a tool. When it is enabled, Claude can search broadly or fetch a page the user names.
Claude may search for current information when Web Search is on; users can explicitly request or block it.
Claude can synthesize multiple pages and return direct citations, source links, and relevant quotations.
Web Fetch can retrieve a specific page supplied by the user. A long page can consume more of the available context window.
Current checkGrok 4.5
Grok is useful when recent public conversation affects the buying decision. We review whether your brand is connected to the right topic now, who else is mentioned, and whether the answer's tone and description are accurate. Separate what came from X from what came from the public web. Tool access is provider dependent, and neither source channel is a complete record.
Grok can use two distinct live channels: public web pages and X posts. Which trail appears depends on the product or enabled tools.
Grok can search the live web, open pages, extract relevant text, and return the URLs it encountered.
It can search posts by keyword, meaning, account, thread, or date and can inspect images or video in posts.
The tools can return all encountered URLs plus inline citations. A URL in the full list may not be used in the final answer.
Current checkSonar
Perplexity gives the clearest visible source trail in this set. Beyond whether you appear, you can see which cited pages support the answer and where competitors have source coverage that you do not. Compare citation coverage and source type before inferring authority. This Sonar run is one dated retrieval setup, not every Perplexity mode.
Perplexity is search first. Its answer model writes after retrieval instead of treating web search as an occasional add on.
Perplexity searches the internet in real time, then summarizes the pages it found with links to original sources.
Standard, Pro, and Research modes can move from a small source set to many searches across articles, papers, forums, videos, and files.
Choosing Sonar, GPT, or Claude changes the writer; source settings still decide whether the answer uses the web, organization files, both, or neither.
Current checkMuse Spark 1.1
Muse Spark 1.1 is Meta's multimodal reasoning model for agentic tasks. This direct check shows how the configured model route answers the same buyer prompt used across In The Answer. Web search is not enabled for this direct route. Treat the result as a named, dated model answer, not a reproduction of every Meta AI product surface or personalized session.
Muse Spark 1.1 is available through Meta's Model API and in Meta AI Thinking mode. In The Answer checks the configured API model directly.
Meta describes Muse Spark 1.1 as a multimodal reasoning model with gains in tool use, computer use, coding, and multimodal understanding.
The configured In The Answer route does not enable live web search, so it does not provide the same source trail as a search first system.
Meta AI Thinking mode can add product instructions, tools, and user context. Its answer may differ from the direct Muse Spark 1.1 check.
